The guy behind the camera
I've had a camera by my side for most of my life. I got my first 35mm camera in 1999 - a Pentax 80mm zoom, before making the jump to a full-fledged Nikon SLR in 2004. In 2006 I made the switch to digital and haven't looked back. When I am not teaching classes at Virginia Tech, you can probably find me framing or editing photos, planning my next photo expedition, or sitting on the side of a mountain waiting for the Milky Way.
I am fortunate to live in a place brimming with natural beauty, and interesting people. There are few things more fulfilling than documenting the special day of an enamored couple, or the excitement on a the face of a student days away from graduating. I love the reaction I get from people when they see one of my landscape or Milky Way photographs and say 'That's HERE?!" I look forward to sharing my corner of the world with you.
Through my prints, greeting cards, and postcards, I invite you to bring bits of the place I call home, as well as my travels, into your own life and home.
