My grandparents gifted me my first camera in 1998, a Pentax automatic 80mm zoom. I made the jump to a full-fledged Nikon SLR in 2004, before switching to digital SLR in 2006 - sticking with Nikon bodies and lenses. When I am not teaching at Virginia Tech you can probably find me hunting for a waterfall, waiting for the Milky Way on the side of a mountain, plotting a lighthouse road safari,
or spending time with my cat, Pixel.

It is inescapable that like any other artistic medium, photography is a curation of what the artist seeks to show. When working with clients, I strive to create images that evoke emotion and capture the energy of my subjects. Photographing in the field, I do my best to faithfully portray the feeling and essence of a place - with accurate colors and textures, rather than overbaked and oversaturated editing.
I am a firm believer that to be human is to create,
and you can count on me never to create my images with AI.

I take a personalized approach to every photoshoot, taking the time to understand my clients' personality, vision, and needs. My goal is to create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere that allows us to capture authentic and memorable moments.

Working with a lens since 1998, I have come to specialize in various styles of photography, including weddings, portrait, event, landscape, and architecture. In 2021 I began participating in festivals with my own tent full of art prints. I treasure the opportunity to discover
new friends and build relationships.
